Simple or Hybrid Solar Controller?
A simple solar controller only performs one function – that of charging your batteries using the energy from your solar panels. There are few circumstances in which that will be the right solution. Domestic solar systems will almost always be relying on 48/51.2v batteries for storage and have a solar installation of between 3 and 6Kw. A 5 or 6Kw hybrid inverter will almost always be the right choice. It provides:
- An MPPT solar controller
- 48/51.2v LifePo4 battery charging
- 220v mains output for domestic consumption
- switches source of mains supply automatically according to circumstances
- additionally uses mains or generator to supply 220v and charge batteries
- starts genset automatically according to genset model.
